LUCIA PRANCHA | A REALIDADE MORDE A PRÓPRIA CAUDA Abertura: 20 de junho A realidade morde a própria cauda, primeira exposição da artista portuguesa Lúcia Prancha na Galeria Leme, irá apresentar uma série de esculturas, ou estruturas invisíveis, que se encontram na intercessão com a circularidade dos eventos.   Na sua prática artística Lúcia procura uma nova realidade através da articulação de fatos, ficções, personagens e períodos históricos. A partir de associações diversas, a artista desenvolve um processo de transferência de sentidos para as imagens e "objetos fenômeno", como forma de materialização das relações que estabelece com a realidade. Seja a partir de um evento, que pode ser representado de várias maneiras, ou através da acumulação de momentos do presente, ou ainda qualquer outra tentativa da sua representação, o resultado é um snapshot, um fragmento no tempo. Prancha começou a trabalhar com objetos por causa da sua qualidade, enquanto recipientes, que podem ser habitados por histórias e, portanto, transformados. Esculturas que surgem a partir destas transformações e tensões dos objetos estão portanto no cerne da sua prática. O objeto não captura uma sucessão de momentos que um evento documenta, mas sim uma força que enclausura a possibilidade do momento, e que a posteriori pode ser desdobrada. A artista considera que o trabalho pode existir naquele momento interino (como uma imagem estática) entre as matrizes de decisões, transferidas e apresentadas dentro do espaço de exposição, bem como a variedade de conexões conceituais realizadas através da fruição do trabalho. Sobre a artista: Lúcia Prancha (Coruche, Portugal, 1985). Vive e trabalha em São Paulo. Formada em Artes Visuais pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (2009) e pela Universidade de São Paulo (2012), recentemente apresentou a sua primeira exposição individual: "O sol que emite uma luz negra" na Red Bull House Of Art, Lisboa, Portugal (2012). Entre suas exposições coletivas destacam-se: "Say what you have to say, put it on the table and walk away… and see what it does", Baginski Galeria / Projectos, Lisboa, Portugal (2012); "Princípios Flexor", Galeria Gramatura, São Paulo, Brasil (2012); "TEXT´o-&-figura", curada por Rolando Castellon, Museo Nacional de Costa Rica (Museo de los Niños), San José, Costa Rica (2010). The show will present a series of sculptures, or invisible structures, which lie in the intersection with the circularity of events. Her work seeks a new idea of reality through the articulation of facts, fictions, characters and historical events. Through different kinds of associations, the artist develops a process of transferring meanings to images that she transforms into her own "objects-phenomenon". Starting from an event, which can be represented in many ways, or through the accumulation of moments of the present, any attempt of its representation will be a "snapshot", a fragment in time. Prancha started working with objects because of their quality as containers that can be inhabited by stories and therefore transformed. Sculptures that arise from these transformations and tensions of objects are at the core of her practice. The object does not capture a succession of moments that document an event but rather encapsulates a "possibility-force" of the moment that can be unfolded a posteriori. The artist considers the work to exist in that interim moment (like a still image) between the ranges of decisions she went through to actualize it and present it within the exhibition space, and the possible array of conceptual connections performed by the viewer. About the artist: Lúcia Prancha (Coruche, 1985). Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. Gradated in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, Portugal (2009) and the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2012). Her first solo show "O sol que emite uma luz negra" was shown at Red Bull House of Art, Lisbon, Portugal (2012).
